Fern Creek’s quint, 7155, left on Saturday for Wisconsin. 55 is heading back to the Seagrave manufacturing plant to be refurbished. 7155 has been in service since 1999 and is due for some updates. While at the plant the aerial ladder will be removed. It will be disassembled, repainted, and reassembled with all new cables & pulleys. When it returns to Kentucky 55 will get some new paint and all new LED lights. This refurb will bring the apparatus up to current safety standards. The entire process will take about six months. In the mean time Fern Creek will be getting some additional mutual aid from surrounding districts to ensure our community is properly protected.
