Mourning with LFR

Our condolences go out to the families involved in yesterday’s tragedy involving 4 Louisville women. To the Louisville Fire Dept, our hearts are truly broken and words cannot express our shock as we mourn the loss of a sister in the fire service.

Gear gets a 2nd life

Yesterday we were delighted to donate some of our outdated turnout gear to Fern Creek High school. This gear may no longer be suited as protective equipment for us, but it is perfect for the high school Fire Science program.

Today, they were able to don their new jackets and come learn about water supply and elevated master streams.

Fall Training

Being a firefighter today means more than just putting water on fire. We must be prepared for anything that could come our way. Over the last few weeks we have been focusing on our special operation teams. Water rescue, Rope rescue, and HAZMAT are all highly technical skills that require a great amount discipline.

Joey goes to Germany

In May Fern Creek firefighter Joey Ward enlisted in the United State’s Army. After 4 month of training and school he has graduated as a Calvary Scout. Immediately after he shipped out for his duty station in Germany. We are all very proud of Joey and his accomplishments over the last few months. Our Chief, Nathan Mulvey, and his family went down to celebrate with Joey and watch his graduation.
